Keith Alexander, Director of Archives

Keith AlexanderKeith became Director of Archives at the Robert C. Byrd Center for Legislative Studies in August 2009.  After graduating from Penn State University in 1992, he worked in Washington, DC as a policy analyst before beginning graduate school.  He holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of Maryland at College Park.  He has worked for the National Archives, and has performed archival research in the US and across Germany.  Keith is co-editor of German Studies in North America, published in 2004, and is the author of "Endphase einer Parlamentarisierung: Die AL und die Rot-Grüne Koalition in Westberlin 1989-1990,"  appearing in the book Jahrbuch des Archivs Grünes Gedächtnis.  He served as assistant editor for the Bulletin of the German Institute from 2005-2008.  Keith is also a faculty member in Shepherd University’s Institute for Environmental Studies, where he teaches courses in environmental studies and coordinates the historic preservation program.
