David Hostetter, Director of Programs and Research
David is the author of the book Movement Matters: American Antiapartheid Activism and the Rise of Multicultural Politics as well as the article “Experiment in Persuasion: The Vigil Against Biological Warfare at Fort Detrick, 1959-1961 and Antiwar Protest in the 1960s,” which appears in the book Mid-Maryland History: Conflict, Growth and Change. He has written for the journals Peace and Change and Mennonite Quarterly Review. David earned his Ph.D. in History from the University of Maryland College Park and has held teaching positions at the College of Southern Maryland and Goshen College. He is an adjunct faculty member at Shepherd University where he teaches U.S., African, and World history. David was elected to the board of the Peace History Society in 2007.
