As we continue to process Senator Robert C. Byrd’s Congressional Papers, we open the parts we finish (i.e. those we have entered into our database), and then get the word out about this additional resource.

Senator Byrd strikes it up with the band that played at the opening of the Martinsburg office in 2007.
During his long career, Senator Byrd had four offices; one in Martinsburg and Charleston, and two in Washington, D.C. (one in the Hart Office building and one in the Capitol while he held various leadership positions). This newly opened series documents the logistics and administration of these offices, includes correspondence about various federal nominations, contains the Senator’s schedules (both daily itineraries and for the trips he took), constituent interaction (in the form of call logs and guest books), regional casework of the state offices, and requests for Senator Byrd to attend various events and functions.
