Room Reservations

The Byrd Center offers a number of different meeting and event spaces which are available for reservation. If you would are interested in determining if the Byrd Center offers an appropriate setting for your event, please contact our office manager at (304) 876-5648 or jbrumage@shepherd.edu. 

*Please note that our rooms are only available for reservations Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. During the spring (January - April) and fall (September - December) semesters, our rooms can book up very quickly, so please contact us several weeks in advance of your event to check the availability of our spaces.

Available Rooms:

Auditorium

Maximum Occupancy: 100 people

The Auditorium provides a great setting for lectures, panel discussions, and film screenings. The room is equipped with a podium, computer, microphones, and a digital projector. Due to the construction of our equipment, we ask that you bring any presentations on a flash drive or send them via email or dropbox. We cannot allow personal laptops and all presentations must be Windows-compliant. 

*Please note that no food or drink is allowed in the auditorium. If food is to be served during an event, it will be setup in the tiled lobby area.
Meeting Room 165

Maximum Occupancy: 25-30 people

One of two meeting rooms on the main level, room 165 is fitted with a projector and a dry erase board. The room can be configured for lectures or conferences. If you plan to use the projector, we will provide a laptop computer which can be used for your presentation. All presentations must be Windows-compliant. 

*Please note that no food or drink is allowed in meeting room 165. If food is to be served during an event, it will be setup in the tiled lobby area.
Meeting Room 164

Maximum Occupancy: 15-20 people

Located across the main hall from the auditorium, meeting room 164 is fitted with a projector and a dry erase board. The room can be configured for lectures or conferences. If you plan to use the projector, we will provide a laptop computer which can be used for your presentation. All presentations must be Windows-compliant.

*Please note that no food or drink is allowed in meeting room 164. If food is to be served during an event, it will be setup in the tiled lobby area.
Multi-Purpose Room

Maximum Occupancy: 30-40 people

Located on the lower level, the multi-purpose room provides a private setting for conferences, meetings, or lectures. The room can be configured in lecture or conference layout and features a projector and dry erase boards. If you plan to use the projector, we will provide a laptop computer which can be used for your presentation. All presentations must be Windows-compliant.

*Food and drinks are allowed in the multi-purpose room and there is a small kitchen next to the room.

Additional Information:

If you would like to have food served during your event, please notify us when you make your reservation. The Byrd Center is not responsible for coordinating catering, but Shepherd University offers a catering service. You may contact Shepherd Catering at (304) 876-5145. 

Parking may be limited on campus during semesters when classes are in session. You can obtain a temporary parking pass from the campus police by contacting (304) 876-5374. 

​Pets are not allowed in the Byrd Center, with the exception of service animals.
