Room Reservations

At this time and until further notice, NO NEW reservations are being accepted at the Robert C. Byrd Center. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and hope to be able to provide meeting and event spaces in the future.

Available Rooms:

Auditorium

Maximum Occupancy: 96 people

The Auditorium provides a great setting for lectures, panel discussions, and film screenings. The room is equipped with a podium, computer, microphones, and a digital projector. Due to the construction of our equipment, we ask that you bring any presentations on a flash drive or use a share drive (Google Drive, Microsoft 365, Dropbox, etc.). We cannot allow personal laptops and all presentations must be Windows-compliant. 

*Please note that no food or drink is allowed in the auditorium. The Rotunda/Lobby provides a space for food service following an event in the Auditorium.
Meeting Room 165

Maximum Occupancy: 30 people

One of two meeting rooms on the main level, Room 165 is fitted with a projector and a dry erase board. The room can be configured for lectures or conferences. If you plan to use the projector, we will provide a laptop computer which can be used for your presentation. All presentations must be Windows-compliant. 

Food may be consumed in this room, but it will need to be setup in the tiled Rotunda/Lobby area.
Meeting Room 164

Maximum Occupancy: 20 people

Located across the main hall from the auditorium, Room 164 is fitted with a projector and a dry erase board. The room can be configured for lectures or conferences. If you plan to use the projector, we will provide a laptop computer which can be used for your presentation. All presentations must be Windows-compliant.

Food may be consumed in this room, but it will need to be setup in the tiled Rotunda/Lobby area.
Multi-Purpose Room

Maximum Occupancy: 40 people

Located on the lower level, the multi-purpose room provides a private setting for conferences, meetings, or lectures. The room can be configured in lecture or conference layout and features a projector and dry erase boards. If you plan to use the projector, we will provide a laptop computer which can be used for your presentation. All presentations must be Windows-compliant.

*Food and drinks are allowed in the multi-purpose room and may be served in the adjacent Lower Level Lobby.

Additional Information:

If you would like to have food served during your event, please notify us when you make your reservation. Catering services are available through Shepherd University (https://suds.campusdish.com/Catering).

If you need to setup a livestream feed or wish to have your event recorded, please contact Shepherd University IT Services with at least two weeks notice to schedule their assistance (https://www.shepherd.edu/itservices/audio-visual-services). 

Parking may be limited on campus during semesters when classes are in session. You can obtain a temporary parking pass from the campus police by contacting (304) 876-5374. 

​Pets are not allowed in the Byrd Center, with the exception of service animals.
